Art Deco macassar ebony silver plate & chrome box

This lovely wooden box was made during the Art Deco period. The box has been veneered with macassar ebony and two "D" shaped chrome strips run from front to back at each end. The hinged lid has a chrome square shaped rod fastener and the lid has an inset silver plated plaque depicting a man, presumably Hercules, holding and protecting the world from a storm.
