Vendome vintage "Night & Day" brooch & earrings

This absolutely glorious vintage brooch & earrings suite was made by Vendome. It comprises a "Night & Day" brooch so named because the brooch opens and closes. The brooch is in bar format the bar being made of eight separate gilt metal wires with a red & black enamelled metal petal on the end of each. The wires are held in place at one end by a gilt metal rosette with a red crystal centre stone. Around the wires is a gilt metal crown like device that slides up and down the wires, thereby enabling the petals to open and close. In the centre of the petals is a gilt metal rosette claw set with 8 faceted red crystals with 3 faux elongated pearls emanating from the centre of the rosette to form the stamens. This rosette is fixed to the hinge of the brooch fastener. underneath one end of the brooch is an oblong cartouche impressed "Vendome Pat. pend.
The clip earrings are a smaller version of the brooch but are not "night & day". Each clip earring has two red & black enamelled gilt metal petals, one large one small with a gilt metal red crystal set rosette with two elongated faux pearls emanating from the centre of the rosette. The clips are stamped Vendome.
