A 1950s Rouge Royale New Mikado pattern vase by Carlton Ware

This lovely red lustre Rouge Royale vase was made in the 1950s by Carlton Ware. The ribbed bulbous base leads to a short neck with gilded ribbon like handles. The vase is decorated in gilt and jewelled enamel in the New Mikado pattern, the front depicting two figures leaving a pagoda with weeping trees in the background whilst the rear depicts a barge with a bridge and pagoda in the background and storks in flight. The top of the vase has a gilded flower border and the inside is mother-of-pearl lustre with a gilded interior border.
Signed Carlton Ware and Rouge Royale in black script.
