Mary Rich ceramic lidded pot

This lovely ceramic lidded pot is by Mary Rich. The base is decorated in bands of gold and terracotta lustre and the lid is decorated with a stylised gilded tree on an eggshell blue background with pale terracotta lustre running round the side of the top. The base is stamped with Mary Rich's mark - a small "m" in a rectangular cartouche.

Mary Rich
Mary Rich lives & works in Cornwall where she was born.
She studied painting and pottery at Bournmouth College of Art.
Worked with Harry and May David at the Crown Pottery and with David Leach in Devon.
She set up her own pottery in Falmouth in 1962.
Fellow of the Craft Potters Association of Great Britain, a member of the Devon Guild of Craftsman.
Past Chairman of the Devon Guild of Craftsmen and Past Chairman of the Cornwall Crafts Association.
Member of the Penwith Society of Arts
